Therapy & Educational Training Services

Individual Therapy

Educational & Professional Training

Body Wise offers trauma-informed educational workshops and professional training focused on nervous system education, embodiment, and ethical, non-directive approaches to learning. These offerings are psychoeducational in nature and distinct from psychotherapy.

Below are two distinct pathways through Body Wise: therapy and education. If you’re unsure what feels like the best first step, you’re welcome to reach out for a conversation rather than an immediate commitment.

  • I provide individual therapy for adults, offered via telehealth in New York, Delaware, and Nebraska seeking thoughtful, nervous system–centered support related to trauma, grief, disability, and complex life experiences.

    My approach integrates:

    • nervous system awareness and regulation

    • mind–body connection and interoceptive skill-building

    • trauma- and grief-informed frameworks

    • disability-affirming care

Therapy is collaborative, paced, and grounded in ethical containment. Services are offered via telehealth.

Therapy is provided on a private-pay basis.

  • Nervous System–Centered Training for Trauma, Grief, and Disability-Informed Care

I offer education and training for clinicians, caregivers, and organizations seeking to deepen their understanding of the nervous system in relation to trauma, grief, and disability.

Offerings are trauma- and disability-informed and grounded in real-world systems of care, including experience within community residence settings in New York State, with clear ethical boundaries between education and psychotherapy.

    Training offerings may include:

    • nervous system literacy and regulation

    • interoception and embodied awareness

    • disability-informed and accessible care practices

    • sustainability and burnout prevention

    • ethical pacing and containment in helping roles

Trainings are educational in nature and do not constitute therapy.

Body Wise Ethos

Body Wise is grounded in the understanding that healing, learning, and meaningful change occur within the context of the nervous system, relationships, and lived experience.

All offerings — therapy and education alike — are shaped by a commitment to pacing, consent, accessibility, and ethical clarity. The work is informed by trauma, grief, and disability, with attention to how systems, environments, and histories impact individual and collective wellbeing.

Rather than prioritizing urgency, productivity, or quick outcomes, Body Wise centers steadiness, integration, and sustainable growth.

Nervous System–Centered Care and Learning

At Body Wise, the nervous system is not viewed as something to control or override, but as a foundational source of information, protection, and capacity.

This means:

  • Moving at a pace that supports regulation and integration

  • Attending to safety, boundaries, and readiness

  • Recognizing the body as an essential part of experience and healing

  • Valuing depth over speed

Whether in therapy or educational spaces, the goal is to create conditions where people can engage meaningfully without overwhelm or pressure.

Trauma- and Disability-Informed Practice

All work at Body Wise is informed by an understanding of trauma and disability as lived experiences shaped by both individual history and broader systems.

This includes:

  • Respect for diverse nervous system needs and capacities

  • Attention to accessibility and inclusion

  • Recognition of chronic illness, neurodivergence, and disability as central — not peripheral — to care and learning

  • Avoiding one-size-fits-all approaches

The aim is to offer spaces that are responsive, adaptable, and grounded in dignity and autonomy.

Clear Scope and Ethical Boundaries

Body Wise intentionally maintains clear distinctions between psychotherapy and educational offerings.

  • Therapy services provide individualized mental health care within a therapeutic relationship

  • Education and training offerings are learning-based and do not involve clinical treatment

These boundaries support safety, containment, and integrity across all services.

Orientation Over Urgency

Body Wise prioritizes informed choice and mutual fit.

This looks like:

  • Inviting reflection before engagement

  • Encouraging questions and clarity

  • Allowing time for alignment

  • Avoiding pressure-driven access

Healing and learning are not rushed processes, and meaningful work benefits from steadiness and thoughtful entry.

Sustainability and Care for the Long Term

Body Wise is built with sustainability in mind — for clients, learners, and the practitioner alike.

This includes:

  • Honoring capacity and limits

  • Supporting nervous system health over burnout

  • Encouraging practices that can be maintained over time

  • Valuing quality of engagement rather than volume

The intention is to foster work that is steady, ethical, and enduring.

Body Wise is committed to offering care and education that are grounded, accessible, ethically clear, and responsive to the realities of trauma, disability, and the nervous system.
